Difference between Social Media Manager and Community Manager

Community Manager

For some companies, a Community Manager handles all digital aspects, but this can differ significantly from reality.

Therefore, it's crucial to define the objectives of this new professional profile to understand what their work entails and why it's essential for brands.

It's important to know the required skills, aptitudes, and behaviors that contribute to the value of this profession.

Typically, the Community Manager takes on tasks previously managed by different team members like public relations, marketing plan implementation, customer service, and identifying needs.

Additionally, they now handle new digital roles such as connecting with audiences, being the online voice of the brand, and creating tailored content for fans.

In general, the Community Manager:

  • Is an undervalued role. Many assume managing social media is like personal use, but it involves much more.
  • Juggles numerous daily tasks from strategic social media management to content curation, digital customer service, and online reputation monitoring.

Key Tasks and Functions of a CM:

  • Online user support as community facilitator
  • Promoting brand image through content creation
  • Monitoring brand mentions: Constantly overseeing social platforms to manage comments about the company, competitors, and market sentiment.
  • Identifying leaders and advocates: Guiding them towards a positive view of the brand and involving them in brand dialogue with followers.
  • Establishing collaboration guidelines with internal stakeholders: Brand ambassadors.
  • Crisis management: Handling negative situations around a brand on social media effectively. Their role involves resolving conflicts and maintaining customer satisfaction through active listening and error minimization.
  • Implementing a marketing plan.

Skills of a CM:

  • Strong written and verbal communication tailored to the brand.
  • Empathy and listening skills.
  • Creativity.
  • Deep knowledge of the brand and relevant tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Adaptability and continuous learning.

Avoid Common Mistakes:

  • Focusing solely on product sales and neglecting audience interaction.
  • Mishandling criticism.
  • Being self-centered.
  • Lack of transparency or deleting comments.
  • Unclear brand voice.
  • Plagiarism or not citing sources.
  • Falsifying information without verification.
  • Not collaborating effectively with other departments.

Types of Community Managers:

  • Internal CM
  • External CM

In robust companies with comprehensive social media departments, responsibilities are divided among various roles like CMs, Social Media Managers (SMMs), Social Media Strategists, Social Media Analysts, and Content Creators.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager (SMM) oversees the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies on social media platforms for brands or individuals.

They manage social media presence to increase brand visibility, engage with the audience, and achieve marketing goals.

Both SMMs and CMs create and publish content, but the SMM's strategy guides these activities.

Key Differences between SMM and CM:

  • SMM typically has more experience managing online environments than a CM.
  • They coordinate and ensure the execution of global social media strategies within an organization.
  • They supervise and work closely with social media strategy leads, providing guidance to CMs on implementation.

In summary, while the Social Media Manager focuses on strategic campaigns and execution across social media, the Community Manager concentrates on community management and direct interaction with followers.

Both roles are complementary and crucial for a brand's online success.

Indians Reject to Pay Elon Musk's Twitter $8 for Blue Tick

Elon Musk is a big businessman & a very popular personality at social media. Most of his business operations are operated from America for all over the world. Many people like him because he does new adventures, and invest but also put at risk, the big amounts of money for his new business adventures. Of course, other businesses & investors also put at risk the money investments for new adventures. But Elon Musk knows very well how to do a good marketing of new adventures keeping himself at a central point of focus.

In India, Tata group owner or Mahindra group owner or in America, Microsoft group owner or in all over the world 🌎🌍 there are many popular, established & rich business families, businessman and businesswoman but mostly they don't make them as himself-centralized marketing as Elon Musk does.

Recently Elon Musk bought Twitter which is a very big platform of quick & easy communications with friends & families, co-workers, unknown subscribers, & speeding messages all over the world.

Billions of peoples including famous personalities of all over the world 🌎🌍 are subscribers of Twitter, & use Twitter platform for marketing purposes & communications & expressions of views in favor or contradictory.

Twitter, with time, becomes a platform of communications for the government agencies. They use it to release notifications for general public. Even the government heads such as Primer Minister (PM), President, Governor of most of countries have official Twitter account. Political parties & politicians use Twitter to communicate with their voters.

-----------------------------------------------------
A well known fact is that a particular type of publicity through social media can make a psychological impact on voters & can change the mindset at a time of voting, however, most of social media including Twitter, Facebook denies their roles in implementing the strategies to make an impact of voters. This is reason why Donald Trump has launched his own a new platform similar to Twitter. Because Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram etc many other popular social media are always blamed for not performing their job impartially. Nevertheless, these social media must be receiving billions of dollars from advertisements & other contracts of impacting on mindset of people.

Currently 1.393 billions people live in India. If Chinese population is also included, then more than half of the population of the whole world live in Asia.

China does not allow easily the business operatations of the social media in its own territory. Most of these popular social media are either blocked or have partial operations in China due to strict rules of communism empire & government. China develops & implement its own mobile apps and such social media platform of communications. Twitter, Facebook and other social media overall have limited business in China.

In India, the situation of social media including Twitter is different. Twitter does a good business because billions of Indians are subscribers of Twitter, producing everyday interesting contents on Twitter & which makes peoples engaged on Twitter from all over the world 🌎🌍. This allows Twitter to show commercial advertisements to billions of Indians & generate a good revenue from the publicity.

If a social media lack subscribers & contents productions, the social media becomes fail because noone is going to provide comercial contracts, thus there wouldn't be any revenue generation & generation. Twitter must say "Thanks to Indian". Because of them business of Twitter is growing.

Twitter must say Thanks to subscribers of other countries as well, but other countries do not have so much population as India possesses, and of course, the subscribers in comparison.

Data of subscribers of Twitter & who produce the contents on Twitter, if it is analysed, Indians are on top. Not only on Twitter, other social media i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Telegram have same situation on subscriber numbers & content productions.

Indians are at top position in information technology (IT) sector & it is well known established fact in all over the world. Even, the CEO of Twitter "Parag Agrwal" was one Indian-American software engineer who has been fired out few days ago by Elon Musk after he purchased Twitter. The CEO of the big gigant company 'Google" is also an India software engineer.

Most of IT companies national or multinational hire Indian IT experts for solving the most complicated issues by programming & digitalization because they know Indian experts are more skilled persons by training & with high mind capability to solve issues. Even Twitter hire Indian experts for achieving its aims.

Twitter provides Blue Tick to the subscribers of Twitter's platform for identifying who is a real person & who is not.

With the name of famous actor 'Amitabh Bachchan" there are many accounts on Twitter but the Blue Tick is provided only to Twitter account of Amitabh Bachchan and that is official. Any message is released from this official Blue Ticked Twitter account of Amitabh Bachchan, the Amitabh Bachchan will be responsible if there is any conflict due to his message.

Amitabh Bachchan, maybe, does not have any problem to pay $8 or 600-700 rupees for retaining Blue Tick on his official account. But he must not have to pay and stands with Indians who are opposing a fees of 600-700 rupees for retaining Blue Tick on official account.

Charging for Blue Tick may be a business for Elon Musk but he is trying to earn from business contracts which Twitter receives due to bulk numbers of Indian subscribers & content creaters, and now he wants subscriber also pay money to him.

If it works, indian subscribers become a big revenue source for America. Does Twitter invest this revenue in India? You can think it. Nevertheless, a burning question is Indian experts cannot develop a Twitter like platform for Indian territory. They can do out of India but not inside India. Indian government and private big Indian IT companies need to work together on this issue.

Amitabh Bachchan, Kapil Sharma, Narendra Damodar Das Modi, Virat Kohli, Rahul Gandhi, Akshay Kumar, Yadav and many other celebreties, of course, must deny to pay in defending other Blue Tick Twitter account holders and to avoid making India as a source of revenue for Elon Musk.

FOMO Syndrome

FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out, or Síndrome FOMO or  Miedo a Perderse Algo, is a pervasive psychological phenomenon in today's digital age.

It encapsulates the unease or anxiety individuals feel when they perceive that others are enjoying rewarding experiences from which they are absent.

This sensation often intensifies as people scroll through social media feeds, seeing friends, acquaintances, or influencers sharing highlights of their lives.

The fear of missing out prompts individuals to stay constantly connected, checking updates and notifications to ensure they are not left behind or excluded from enjoyable events or opportunities.

The essence of FOMO lies in the human desire for connection and belonging.

It amplifies our innate curiosity about others' lives and experiences, fueled by the visibility and immediacy of social media platforms.

The fear stems from a fear of regret, that not participating in these activities or events could lead to feelings of exclusion or being left out.

In its more extreme forms, FOMO can impact mental well-being, leading to stress, distraction, and a compulsive need to engage with social media.

It can also influence decision-making, as individuals may prioritize immediate gratification or social validation over long-term goals or personal well-being.

Understanding FOMO involves recognizing its influence on behavior and emotions in a digitally connected world.

It underscores the importance of mindful use of technology, maintaining perspective on social interactions, and nurturing genuine connections beyond virtual platforms.

Managing and safeguarding oneself from the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) syndrome involves adopting strategies to maintain a healthy relationship with social media and digital connectivity. Here are some practical steps:

  1. Limit Social Media Use: Set specific times during the day for checking social media and avoid mindless scrolling. Consider using apps or features that limit your time on social platforms.

  2. Practice Mindfulness: Be aware of how social media makes you feel. Notice if you're comparing yourself to others or feeling anxious about missing out. Take breaks and engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment offline.

  3. Set Boundaries: Establish boundaries around when and how often you engage with social media. Consider turning off notifications or using "do not disturb" modes during certain times to minimize distractions.

  4. Focus on Real-Life Connections: Nurture relationships and connections in the real world. Plan activities with friends and family that don't involve social media or electronic devices.

  5. Practice Gratitude: Cultivate a sense of gratitude for what you have and the experiences you are able to enjoy. This can help shift your focus away from what others are doing or experiencing.

  6. Seek Balance: Balance your online activities with offline hobbies, exercise, and relaxation. Engage in activities that promote well-being and reduce stress.

  7. Reflect on Values: Reflect on your personal values and goals. Focus on activities and experiences that align with these values rather than chasing trends or comparing yourself to others.

  8. Educate Yourself: Understand the impact of social media on mental health and well-being. Stay informed about how to use digital platforms responsibly and in moderation.

By implementing these strategies, you can reduce the negative effects of FOMO and maintain a healthier perspective on social media and digital connectivity in your life.

A B-grade on Socialblade typically indicates that a channel is performing well, but has room for improvement. It is a relatively good grade, indicating that the channel has moderate to strong engagement, but may still have some areas that need to be improved upon. Prosumidor

A prosumer, in Spanish prosumidor, a portmanteau of "producer" and "consumer," describes individuals who actively engage in creating and sharing content on the internet.

This active participation extends beyond simply consuming information to actively contributing by writing reviews, posting on social media, blogging, or sharing content that they find relevant or interesting.

For example, a prosumer might write a detailed review of a product on an e-commerce site, share their experiences with a service on a company's Facebook page, or create informative content on their own blog.

What distinguishes prosumers is their role in shaping online conversations and influencing digital content.

They are not passive recipients of information but active contributors who often have a deep interest in specific topics or industries.

This engagement is facilitated by user-friendly interfaces on social media platforms and other online communities, which encourage users to share their thoughts, opinions, and experiences with a wide audience.

The rise of prosumers is closely linked to the democratization of content creation enabled by digital platforms.

Unlike traditional media where content creation was limited to professionals, anyone with internet access can now produce and distribute content globally.

This shift has empowered individuals to become publishers and influencers in their own right, impacting how brands and businesses engage with their audiences.

Moreover, prosumers blur the lines between consumers and creators, as many individuals oscillate between these roles depending on their interests and motivations.

This hybrid role allows prosumers to not only consume content but also actively participate in shaping trends, influencing purchasing decisions, and contributing to online communities.

In conclusion, prosumers play a pivotal role in the digital ecosystem by fostering engagement, sharing valuable insights, and influencing the online discourse.

Their contributions contribute to the richness and diversity of online content, making them integral to the evolving landscape of digital communication and commerce.

In summary, A "prosumer" is someone who actively and enthusiastically participates in creating content and making various contributions on the internet, whether through websites, blogs, or social media platforms.

For instance, a prosumer might write a complaint on a company's Facebook page, leave a product review, comment on a blog post, or share a company's posts.

They view themselves as peers and follow these entities on social media as ordinary contacts.

Most users typically fall somewhere between consumer and prosumer profiles, as not everyone remains consistently active in content creation.

Social media platforms have significantly increased the number of prosumers by providing user-friendly interfaces that encourage participation in content creation to share information with their contacts.

This trend has transformed how individuals engage with brands and businesses online, influencing consumer behaviors and shaping digital interactions.

Baba Ka Dhaba (बाबा का ढाबा) Review

The baba ka dhaba (बाबा का ढाबा) is nowadays very popular in social media. I also come to know this title and story few days ago, then I start to investigate for what is the case and how does it become so popular.

"Subscribe to receive notification of next post: https://www.latestfoto.com/p/subscrib.html?m=1 "

I read several articles published in online social media and newspapers, and watch several youtube videos posted by youtube creators including those videos which are posted by well know popular news channels. Now I write what do I feel for the Baba Ka Dhaba (बाबा का ढाबा).

The story starts from a 80-years old person Kanta Prasad who is living in the South Delhi's Malviya Nagar with his wife and managing a small food shop for earning. He does not live with his sons due to family disputes.

"Subscribe to receive notification of next post: https://www.latestfoto.com/p/subscrib.html?m=1 "

The popular food blogger and YouTuber Gaurav Wasan of the"Swad Official" has visited his shop one day, and recorded and posted a video on his official social media platforms demostrating that these old person are living poorly and need public support.

Because due to Coronavirus lockdown very few clients are visiting his shop for purchasing food. He is facing tough to earn few money for his own bread. Both, his wife and he, are very sad for the situation.

The video and news about the Kanta Prasad and his wife become viral in social media.

On an appeal of Gaurav Wasan, many people come forward to support the old person Kanta Prasad.

"Subscribe to receive notification of next post: https://www.latestfoto.com/p/subscrib.html?m=1 "

Few famous actors and social media popular names have shared the story and video of Kanta Prasad and his food shop for bringing it in public attention.

As a result of these public calls, many people have visited Kanta Prasad´s food shop, did purchasing of food as well as donations.

Kanta Prasad himself said that he earned 75000 rs in one day from this public support.

The blogger Gaurav Wasan has shared his, his wife and one other family member´s bank account numbers for accepting the donations. The problem starts at this point.

Kanta Prasad registers a case in police against Gaurav Wasan claiming that Gaurav Wasan has recieved 20 lakh Rs as donations but does not transfer this money to his bank account.

"Subscribe to receive notification of next post: https://www.latestfoto.com/p/subscrib.html?m=1 "

Gaurav Wasan is saying that all the money is transfered to Kanta Prasad and he has shown publically money transation report of his bank account.

Kanta Prasad  has recruited a manager, volunteers etc for managing his shop and crowd which is coming to purchase food.

Many companies like Pepsi etc has sponsored Kanta Prasad´s food shop.

I read somewhere he is planning to open a chain of new shops with the brand name Baba Ka Dhaba (बाबा का ढाबा).

Who is lying? I am not for judging this.

But I can say the old person should have kept patient. He has to give thanks to Gaurav Wasan, requests more help from him for branding and finding more clients, creating jobs and recruiting unemployed peoples (no volunteers or volunteer manager), and has avoided filling a case in police against Gaurav Wasan.

If the food blogger Gaurav Wasan has not recorded and posted Kanta Prasad´s story for his earning from his food shop, noone is going to know his situation.

Kanta Prasad should be very thankful to youtuber Gaurav Wasan. What do you think? You can share your comment.

It is also true that people post a story for benefit and we have to accept it.

"Subscribe to receive notification of next post: https://www.latestfoto.com/p/subscrib.html?m=1 "

Youtuber and blogger Gaurav Wasan has posted Kanta Prasad´s story to add more highlights in his name and fame showing he helps people living in poor situation, otherwise he has not done it.

Youtuber and blogger Gaurav Wasan should had open a bank account specifically for this purpose, and avoided to use his personal bank accounts for public cause

Gaurav Wasan should had said that 10% or whatever ammount of donations would go for other services; helping others, his own travel, food, whatever he thinks because he is using his own time to bring such stories in news.

"Watch my opinion in a video https://youtu.be/mG3myt7aS9Y "

Why not others are doing same? Because others donot have time. Do you have time? Blogger Gaurav Wasan is managing his time, contributing for awareness in society, so he should be praised and paid for it. What do you think? You can share your comment.

Popularity of Abusive Language in Media Contents

You may wonder why I am writing an article on the issue of the popularity of abusive language in media contents. By media content I mean radio, television, movies, web series, documentary, youtube, social media which allow you to hear and watch the contents that are produced and streamed.

We can watch and hear the voices of Radio & TV anchors, actors of movies and artists of video creations. However, the print media is different because we need to read the contents written.

----------------------------------------

You can hear it in audio & video form

-------------------------------------------

Watching & hearing need less concentration than reading a content.

I decided to write this article because I find that now too much abusive language, in Hindi we call "Gaali", is used in movies, radio, television, web series, youtube and other social media contents which are released from India.

Earlier this was not the case. 10 years ago these media contents were free of abusive words and we could watch and hear them with the whole family but now the case is different. We are watching a movie or web series with kids of the family but we don't know when the artists would start to speak with a few abusive words. This makes a shameful condition in front of kids. Does it not happen in your life?

-----------------------------------------------------
Reserve ✈️ & 🛏️ a Best Deal
-----------------------------------------------------

I remember that in the 80s and 90s the adult movies, not porn movies, were shown on Indian national television "Doordarshan" late at night after 11 pm when the kids were in their beds & sleeping. Even the adults of the family avoided watching such movies because of late night & they prefered to go to bed & sleep than watching movies. In the 80s and 90s there were no cable connections to watch several TV channels. In a middle class Indian family, Radio and Television were the only source of daily entertainment.

The clean media contents from abusive words allows us to watch and hear the media contents in the 80s and 90s.

Now the situation is different for use of abusive words in the creation of media contents. I have watched a youtube short in which the famous bollywood actor from Bihar, Manoj Bajpayee, is stating that Gaali (abusive words) are our language & culture and we cannot avoid using them.

It is OK but it is acceptable if you use them on your private level, but it is not recommended to use abusive language when you are playing a principal role in a movie and a webserie because those are contents that are released publically & many families watch it with kids.

I agree people use abusive language in professional life because of stress and creating a pressure to achieve their goals in professional competition but mostly they use it when they are out of their house. In a middle class Indian family, people avoid using abusive words at home. Why do they do it?

The simple reason is they don't want their kids or family to hear abusive words and remember and use them. Kids' minds are in a developing phase. It records easily what is heard and watched. Kids also watch television, movies, youtube videos and hear music and interesting talks on radio.

Now the Manoj Bajpayee and other actors or famous people or programs of radio, television and other sources of entertainment say that the Gaali is our Indian language and culture and we have rights to use it in our creations of media content, then, think what will happen with kids. They will learn to speak in abusive language from childhood, and how they will talk with parents one can imagine easily.

I live in Spain and I have seen how the kids talk with parents and in family & with friends. I can understand this is a different culture. But, in India, it is still avoided. India is progressing towards becoming an advanced country & now many people talk about their rights. It is Ok, you have rights but others also have their rights. Each right has its limitations.

The Indian government needs to ban release of such media contents in Indian territory and penalize the creators for creating such media contents, so that a family can entertain with any media content without any preoccupation and with kids.

Belgium Joins Growing List of Nations Updating Travel Advisory for the U.S.: What It Means for Travelers

As the United States tightens its border policies, Belgium is set to join countries like the Netherlands, Canada, France, Germany, Denmark, the UK, and Finland in updating its travel advisory for its citizens.

This move comes in response to an increasing number of incidents involving European travelers facing heightened scrutiny, detentions, and even deportations upon arrival in the U.S.

For Belgian travelers, this raises critical questions:

What has changed in U.S. border enforcement?

What risks do they face?

And how can they prepare for their trip to avoid unnecessary complications?

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the evolving situation and offers expert advice on navigating the new travel landscape.

Why Are Countries Updating Their U.S. Travel Advisories?

Several European nations have updated their travel alerts due to a series of alarming cases where their citizens faced extended detentions at U.S. immigration centers. For instance:

  • A German tourist was detained for 16 days after border agents found a previous entry stamp from Mexico, leading to suspicion of unauthorized work in the U.S.
  • A Welsh backpacker was held for nearly three weeks after failing to provide sufficient proof of his travel itinerary and return plans.
  • A Canadian woman was detained for 12 days due to a minor visa discrepancy.

These incidents suggest a growing trend of stricter immigration enforcement, possibly influenced by political pressures and policy shifts under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Key Policy Changes Affecting Belgian Travelers

While U.S. immigration laws remain the same, their interpretation and enforcement have become more stringent.

Belgian travelers should be aware of the following:

1. Increased Secondary Inspections

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers now conduct more frequent and rigorous questioning at points of entry.

Even travelers with valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approvals may be pulled aside for additional screening.

2. Longer Detention Periods and Limited Access to Legal Help

If flagged for further inspection, travelers may be held in detention centers for extended periods. Unlike domestic legal procedures, travelers do not have an automatic right to legal representation at the border.

3. Greater Focus on Travel History

U.S. authorities are increasingly examining a traveler’s past visits, especially if they have been to countries perceived as “high risk” or have frequently entered and exited the U.S. in a short time frame.

4. Social Media Screening

Border agents may request access to a traveler’s social media accounts to verify the consistency of their travel claims.

Posts that suggest remote work or extended stays in the U.S. could raise red flags.

What This Means for Belgian Travelers

The revised travel advisory does not mean Belgian citizens are unwelcome in the U.S.

However, it underscores the need for careful preparation and compliance with immigration requirements.

Travelers should take the following steps to reduce their risk of facing border issues:

1. Prepare Documentation in Advance

Before departing for the U.S., ensure you have the following:

  • Valid passport and ESTA authorization
  • Proof of return travel (airline tickets, travel itinerary)
  • Hotel reservations or accommodation details
  • Letter of invitation if visiting family or friends
  • Evidence of financial means to support your stay (bank statements, employer letters)

2. Be Prepared for Extensive Questioning

Expect CBP officers to ask about:

  • The purpose of your visit
  • Your employment status in Belgium
  • Your planned length of stay
  • Any previous visits to the U.S. and surrounding countries

Answer truthfully and confidently, providing documentation when necessary.

3. Avoid Carrying Work-Related Items if Traveling on a Tourist Visa

Bringing work laptops, professional equipment, or discussing freelance work with border officers may create suspicions of unauthorized employment.

Stick to tourist-related responses unless you hold the appropriate work visa.

4. Be Mindful of Social Media and Digital Content

Since social media checks are now more common, remove any posts that could be misinterpreted as evidence of extended stays or unauthorized work in the U.S.

What to Do if You Are Detained at the U.S. Border

In the unfortunate event that a Belgian traveler is detained:

  1. Remain calm and cooperate – Aggressive behavior can escalate the situation.
  2. Request to contact your embassy – Belgian citizens have the right to inform their embassy, which may assist in ensuring fair treatment.
  3. Do not sign documents without understanding them – Signing forms under pressure could lead to voluntary removal or travel bans.
  4. Document your experience – If released, report your case to the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for record-keeping and legal advice.

Comparing U.S. Entry Policies to Other Countries

While the U.S. has become stricter, how does it compare to other nations with strong border control policies?

  • Canada: Uses similar questioning tactics but generally allows detained travelers access to legal representation.
  • Australia: Has a strict visa policy but provides more transparency on denial reasons.
  • UK: Denies entry more frequently but detains visitors for shorter periods compared to the U.S.

Final Thoughts: Should Belgian Travelers Be Concerned?

Belgium’s anticipated travel advisory update is not a ban but a precautionary measure to ensure its citizens are well-informed.

While most Belgian travelers will enter the U.S. without issue, the risk of prolonged detentions or entry denials is higher than in previous years.

By staying informed, prepared, and compliant with immigration rules, travelers can reduce the likelihood of encountering problems at the border.

Belgian authorities recommend checking for updates regularly and following best practices when planning U.S. trips.

For those with concerns, consulting with travel lawyers or embassies before departure can offer added peace of mind.

In the evolving world of international travel, knowledge is the key to a smooth and stress-free journey.
