When I was searching a hindi movie, to watch and read this name it did not attract me at first instance. Because this title "Mee Raqsam" is difficult to pronounce and it does not indicate what could me in this movie. I am a general public, not a dancer. Are you agree with me? When I start to watch this movie, it increases my curiosity for what is going to happen next, thus it retains me on my sofa for watching whole movie. This means it is a good movie. Does it happen with you?
The movie is based on a muslim school girl who is facinate of performing dance and wants to learn Bharatnatyam. This dance was done by Devdasi in past. In Devdasi is a girl who married with the god and is "servant of god'. But in recent decades it is considered Tawayaf (prostitute).
Muslim society does not like that she learns a dance which belongs to hindu culture.
Muslim politician and religious leader ask her father to stop her daughter from dance learning. When her father does not agree, they impose on him social problems including blockinging his earnings.
Hindu politician also try to block her from dancing.
But at last she wins a scholarship for dance learning and newspapers publishes her name.
Fantastic Movie!!!! Cinematography is very good. It seems like events are happening in your own locality. No scenes of Switzerland or Kashmir as you watch in other very big budget movies.
If I have been asked to watch this movie, sure I will watch it. Because it makes me emotional many times during watching the movie.

मुस्लिम राजनेता और धार्मिक नेता उसके पिता से अपनी बेटी को नृत्य सीखने से रोकने के लिए कहते हैं। जब उसके पिता सहमत नहीं होते हैं, तो वे उसकी कमाई को अवरुद्ध करने सहित सामाजिक समस्याओं को उस पर थोपते हैं।
हिंदू राजनेता भी उसे नाचने से रोकने की कोशिश करते हैं।
लेकिन अंत में वह नृत्य सीखने के लिए छात्रवृत्ति जीतती है और समाचार पत्र उसका नाम प्रकाशित करते हैं।
शानदार फिल्म !!!! सिनेमेटोग्राफी बहुत अच्छी है। ऐसा लगता है जैसे घटनाएँ आपके ही इलाके में हो रही हैं। स्विटजरलैंड या कश्मीर का कोई दृश्य नहीं जैसा कि आप अन्य बहुत बड़े बजट की फिल्मों में देखते हैं।
अगर मुझे इस फिल्म को देखने के लिए कहा गया है, तो मैं इसे देखूंगा। क्योंकि यह फिल्म देखने के दौरान मुझे कई बार भावुक कर देता है।
