Una imagen dice más que mil palabras
Today morning I was hearing a lecture and the speaker have used many time the phrase "Una imagen dice más que mil palabras".
In English it is "An image says more than a thousand words".
Now the question is why it has been used so many times during a lecture. Does it have any relation with the reality in deed?
I think yes it has a strong bond with reality. Somewhere it is related to time and our understanding.
In this advanced and modern age, one of the biggest problems which we have in our routine life is our time. Everyone is running to achieve one goal, then another goal, then another one. There is no stop even though one wants to have a stop.
We have social, professional and family life and one of them, two or all of them push you to run by showing you what you have to achieve to solve the issues that are in front of you.
Very few people have time due to a run of life. People read the text of the whole story due to their interest or often it is by obligation. They do their best to read quickly and understand as early as possible.

Due to this quick action which is demanded from the mind, sometimes a text of 1000 words is difficult to understand, although you finish reading it in seconds.
Nevertheless, the issue of the text is presented in image form, then you may understand in seconds.
For example; we read and see so many materials in newspapers and television about immigration.
Every day many people die while crossing the Mediterranean sea between Europe and Africa or the English Channel between Southern England and Northern France.
People notice the gravity of issues associated to immigration when a photographer takes a good photo of a dead immigrant and publishes it.
Anyhow, we have to agree with "Una imagen dice más que mil palabras" or "An image says more than a thousand words".
