Full Programme, Dates, Times & Venues (8–12 October) of Toro Fiesta de la Vendimia 2026
From 8 to 12 October 2026, the historic town of Toro in the province of Zamora celebrates its Fiesta de la Vendimia, the wine harvest festival, officially declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. Five days of wine tastings, a traditional parade of decorated carts, folk music, a medieval market and late-night DJ sessions turn the town into one of Castilla y León's most atmospheric autumn destinations.
What is the Fiesta de la Vendimia in Toro?
Toro is the capital of the D.O. Toro wine region, famous for its powerful red wines made from Tinta de Toro grapes. Every October the town honours the grape harvest with a programme that mixes tradition and culture, a medieval market and a lively scene of vendimia stalls (casetas) and hospitality venues. The official programme is published by the Ayuntamiento de Toro and several events are organised with the Ruta del Vino de Toro and the Consejo Regulador D.O. Toro, with Turismo Zamora (Diputación de Zamora) among the logos shown on the programme.
Official opening: Pregón and Brindis
The festival opens on Thursday 8 October at 20:00 at the Teatro Latorre with the official proclamation (pregón) by Eusebio Sacristán Mena, a former Spanish footballer who played for Real Valladolid, Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona and Celta de Vigo, was part of Johan Cruyff's "Dream Team" and won the 1992 European Cup. He is now linked to the wine world through Bodega Quinta Quietud in Toro. The official toast to the new harvest follows, with a concert by Abrojo Folk, who celebrate 30 years on stage. Entry is free until the venue is full.
