How To Get More Followers On X

To get more followers on X (formerly Twitter), timing is crucial, but there are several other strategies to maximize your growth:

Post at Optimal Times: Identify when your target audience is most active and schedule posts accordingly.

This can vary depending on the region, so experiment with different times to find what works best.

In general, weekdays during late mornings and early afternoons tend to perform well.

Engage Consistently: Actively respond to comments, engage with your followers' content, and participate in trending conversations.

This increases your visibility and encourages interaction.

Use Hashtags and Trends: Leverage relevant hashtags and trending topics to reach a wider audience.

Avoid spamming, but use them strategically to enhance the reach of your posts.

Create High-Quality, Shareable Content: Focus on content that adds value—whether it’s informative, entertaining, or inspirational.

High-quality tweets, infographics, videos, and thread posts tend to get shared more often.

Collaborate and Network: Partner with other X users, especially those in your niche.

Collaborations and shoutouts help expose your account to a larger, yet relevant audience.

Post Visuals: Tweets with images, videos, or GIFs tend to get higher engagement.

This makes your posts more appealing and shareable.

Follow Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest in your field, and post content that reflects current trends.

Being timely with your posts makes you a go-to source of information.

Engage in Conversations and Commenting: Contributing meaningful insights on popular accounts and posts helps draw attention back to your profile.

Promote Across Other Platforms: Share your X profile on other social media channels, blogs, and newsletters.

Cross-promotion can help draw in followers from your wider network.

Run Giveaways or Contests: If relevant to your brand, hosting a contest or giveaway can rapidly increase engagement and new followers.

Growing followers organically requires a combination of strategic timing, engagement, and creating valuable content tailored to your audience.

TikTok

TikTok is a social network focused on sharing highly customizable short videos directly from its app.

It was launched in 2016 in China under the name "Douyin," developed by ByteDance.

Initially, it exclusively centered around music and humor, allowing users to synchronize short videos with background music.

TikTok has become a global phenomenon that other social networks have struggled to contend with, creating a new form of online culture and entertainment.

This impact has been so profound that platforms like YouTube and Instagram have mimicked its systems in attempts to compete, yet TikTok continues to grow rather than decline.

It now boasts over 1.6 billion users worldwide.

Before diving into its features, let's discuss one of the most significant changes it brought: its algorithm.

For the first time, content could go viral without requiring thousands of followers (though possible, it was challenging).

A user with a newly created account could garner millions of views without necessarily gaining followers.

This shift diminished the importance of followers while elevating the significance of virality.

Though initially designed for videos of up to 30 seconds, TikTok extended this limit to 30 minutes by 2024 in response to user feedback and to attract users from other platforms.

However, general and viral content typically remains between 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

This time constraint encourages creativity and conciseness in content creation.

TikTok's algorithm revolutionized how social media is understood: prior to its launch, going viral often correlated with gaining followers; with TikTok, a video could garner millions of views with only a handful of followers, or vice versa.

Elon Musk

Elon Musk is the person with the most detractors, but also with the most loyal followers.

Everyone pays attention to what he publishes because when he does, it literally affects the stock market or cryptocurrencies.

X

X is a microblogging and social media platform that allows users to publish and read short messages, up to 280 characters (more if you pay for the monthly premium plan).

These messages can contain text, links, images, videos, and other media, and can be visible publicly or to a specific group of followers, depending on the user's privacy settings.

We cannot discuss X without first mentioning Twitter, its predecessor.

Twitter was founded in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams, and was officially launched in July of the same year.

Originally conceived as an internal messaging service at the podcasting company Odeo, it quickly evolved into a microblogging social network that allowed users to share thoughts and status updates quickly and concisely.

With the arrival of Elon Musk, Twitter has been embroiled in controversy, including a name change.

Gradually, its influence is waning, and its new policies of not managing posted messages are causing some uproar and a content case, although it has always been characterized by the latter.

Let's not forget that Twitter, now X, has had a significant impact on culture, politics, media, and other aspects of society.

It has been used to organize protests, spread breaking news, share opinions, and connect people worldwide.

X, despite its current challenges, remains much more than just a platform.

It is a powerful communication and marketing tool.

X allows up to 280 characters per message, with the option to add more characters through a paid plan.

This feature can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

X also enables users to act anonymously on its platform, which can create a sense of being untouchable.

However, cyberbullying is quite common on this social network.

Fediverso

Threads has been part of the Fediverse since March 24th.

It's a social network of interconnected third-party servers that can communicate with each other.

This means that the content you post on Threads can be visible on other platforms within the Fediverse.

Additionally, these servers are decentralized.

In essence, it's a great way to reach more people who are not part of Threads itself.

Delving deeper into this concept, we can describe it as a combination of the words "Federation" and "Universe."

It's a collection of social networks that allows users to interact across platforms as if they were within a single platform.

For example, using well-known social networks, it's like using your YouTube account to comment on Facebook.

Facebook

Facebook was one of the first social networks to gain followers and was also the first to revolutionize the way we communicate on the Internet (although at that time, Tuenti was more popular in Spain).

Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook on February 4, 2004, while he was a sophomore at Harvard.

Initially, the platform was called "Thefacebook" and was intended to be an exclusive social network for Harvard students.

The website was created with the aim of allowing college students to connect with each other and share information about events, classes, and campus activities.

It quickly expanded to other universities in the United States and later opened up to anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address.

In October 2005, the company dropped "The" from its name and became "Facebook."

Over the years, Facebook has evolved and adapted to changing times, with its ups and downs.

It acquired Instagram, WhatsApp, and created Threads, all now under the "Meta" brand.

The social network has undergone various modifications, adding features such as the ability to sell products, watch videos, go live, have conversations, play mini-games with other users, and much more.

Although its popularity has declined, it remains a significant platform and complements the other social networks owned by the company perfectly.

The advantage is that Meta's advertising system allows you to post on Instagram, Threads, and Facebook simultaneously, adapting the ads for the different platforms.

  • Page Insights: Use Facebook's Insights tools to analyze page performance, including metrics such as reach, engagement, audience growth, and follower demographics.
  • Conversion Tracking: Implement the Facebook pixel on your website to track conversions such as purchases, sign-ups, and downloads, and analyze the performance of advertising campaigns.
  • Post Analysis: Analyze the performance of individual posts using available metrics such as reach, engagement, clicks, and actions taken to identify the most effective content and adjust your strategy accordingly.
  • Audience Segmentation: Use Facebook's audience segmentation tools to reach specific groups of users based on demographic characteristics, interests, behaviors, and connections.
  •

    Tuenti

Tuenti was a popular social networking platform in Spain, particularly during the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Launched in 2006, Tuenti quickly gained popularity among Spanish-speaking users, especially teenagers and young adults.

It was often referred to as the "Spanish Facebook" due to its similar features and functionalities, although it primarily targeted a younger demographic.

    Key features of Tuenti included:

    1. User Profiles: Users could create profiles with personal information, photos, and status updates, similar to other social networking sites.

    2. Friend Connections: Like Facebook, Tuenti allowed users to connect with friends, send messages, and share content within their network.

    3. Privacy Settings: Tuenti was known for its focus on privacy, allowing users to control who could view their profiles and content.

    4. Events and Groups: Users could create or join events and groups based on common interests or activities.

    5. Mobile App: Tuenti also had a mobile app, enabling users to access the platform from their smartphones, which was a relatively new concept at the time.

In 2010, Tuenti was reportedly one of the most visited websites in Spain.

However, its popularity declined over time, partly due to the rise of other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, which offered broader international appeal and more advanced features.

In 2016, Tuenti rebranded itself as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), offering mobile telecommunications services rather than focusing solely on social networking.

This shift marked its transition away from being a social media platform to a mobile service provider.

Overall, Tuenti played a significant role in the Spanish social media landscape during its peak years, but its influence waned as user preferences and technology evolved.

    Instagram

Instagram is an application that can be used from both mobile phones and computers for photo editing and sharing images on its own platform or other social networks.

Although it is designed for mobile devices, and the desktop version is quite limited

It was created in December 2010 by Yosyp Shvab and Kevin Systrom, two young men who, within six months, achieved a monthly growth of 1 million users.

In April 2012, Meta bought Instagram for $1 billion, double the amount it was valued at, and Mark Zuckerberg announced his commitment to "build and grow Instagram independently."

Following this acquisition by Meta and its development for Android — as it was initially only available for Apple — the number of users began to skyrocket.

In less than a month, it went from 30 to 50 million users.

Currently, there are 1.2 billion active users on Instagram.

The tool is continuously updated. Its interface has been constantly evolving to adapt to new possibilities offered by other networks.

For example, adding Stories like on Snapchat or Reels like on TikTok.

Instagram Stories allows users to share photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.

It also offers interactive features such as polls, questions, location tags, challenges, and swipe-ups.

If your account is a creator or business account, you will have access to additional features, such as your business location, a contact button, customized statistics, and more.

To run ads on Meta, you need to have one of these free accounts.

    Inbound marketing

The added value is the main key of inbound marketing or attraction marketing.

This concept refers to a marketing strategy that focuses on attracting potential customers through relevant and useful content, rather than grabbing their attention through traditional advertising methods.

Instead of interrupting users with intrusive ads, inbound marketing aims to create value and build relationships with potential customers by providing them with valuable information that solves their problems or satisfies their needs.

This is summarized in high-quality content such as blogs, videos, SEO strategies, and the use of social networks.

    Branded content

Branded content, or brand content, is a way to provide added value to the consumer.

The brand is conveying a unique experience and content that is not directly related to its products, but rather to its philosophy and values.

The objective is for this content, combined with the brand's image, to stay longer in people's memories.

    Threads a New Red Social

Threads is the latest social network launched by Meta.

Taking advantage of the turmoil experienced by X, formerly known as Twitter, following its acquisition by Elon Musk, Meta stepped up its game to achieve a "monopoly" on social networks.

This was a strategy to attract dissatisfied users and create a better product that integrates seamlessly with their existing social networks.

Between 2022 and 2023, the Instagram team developed and introduced Threads to the public.

It was officially launched on July 5, 2023, but did not reach Europe until December 14. In its first 24 hours, it reached a staggering 70 million users and is now approaching 150 million.

Threads is designed to integrate perfectly with Instagram, allowing the sharing of images, text, and videos while maintaining the traditional microblogging style of Twitter. Content from Instagram and Threads can be shared across both social networks to achieve more views.

Threads focuses on facilitating communication between close friends and family, offering a platform that stands out for its simplicity and privacy.

Here are some key points about Threads:

    • Integration with Instagram: Threads is closely linked with Instagram, allowing users to log in with their Instagram accounts and maintain a seamless experience between both platforms.
    • Privacy and Closeness: The app is designed for interaction with your Instagram close friends list. You can share status updates, photos, videos, and messages with a select group of people, maintaining greater control over who sees your content.
    • Automatic Status Updates: A notable feature of Threads is its ability to automatically update your status based on your activity, location, and other factors. This feature, called "Auto Status," lets your close friends know what you're up to without needing to manually write each update.
    • Simple Interface: Threads has a minimalist and user-friendly interface focused on the camera, making it easy to quickly send photos and videos.
    • Messaging Focus: While it allows sharing stories and statuses, Threads is primarily geared towards direct messaging, offering a more intimate and private alternative to conversations on Instagram.
    • Privacy: Meta has placed significant emphasis on privacy with Threads, providing detailed controls over who can see your updates and communicate with you.

Threads represents Meta's effort to offer a more private social network focused on communication between close friends, in contrast to broader, more public social networks.

Its launch is part of Meta's strategy to diversify its services and capture different segments of users with specific communication needs.

Meta has announced future updates in which they promise to create a decentralized ecosystem, a feed with minimal algorithmic interference, and a more comprehensive profile.

On March 24, 2024, the Fediverse was launched in beta phase.

The advantage is that Meta's advertising system allows you to post on Instagram, Threads (in progress), and Facebook simultaneously, adapting the ads for the different platforms.
