100% electrically charged home appliances still consume electricity

Yesterday I used my small hand vacuum cleaner for cleaning a balcony of my flat because one day before we worked on seeding new plants in pots and it left a little bit of soil and other debris on the floor of the balcony. 

It needs a proper cleaning, so I decided to do it using a hand vacuum cleaner which I bought 2-3 years ago.

After a few minutes, my vacuum cleaner was discharged because I had been using it for many weeks without charging it. 

I plug the vacuum cleaner in the socket of electricity to charge it. After a few minutes the vacuum cleaner was 100% electrically charged but I plugged it out from the electric socket after many hours.

Not only this, normally I plug home appliances in the socket of electricity but I remove them after many hours and sometimes I remove them from the electric plug after many days. 

When I was removing my small vacuum cleaner yesterday which was 100% charged with electricity, a question came to my mind: 100% electrically charged home appliances still consume electricity? or home appliances do not consume electricity on 100% charging. 

I searched this query on the internet but I did not find a satisfactory answer. 

Many of them are positive for consumption of electric energy after full charging and if your home appliance (laptop etc) is still connected to the electric circuit. 

OK, I agree, but what is the mechanism? 

If anything is 100% full, that means there is no space for anything more. So what is the logic behind that home appliances will consume electricity after 100% charged.
